About DBT Companion

A quiet place to find and practice DBT skills when you need something steady and practical.

What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, is a skills-based therapy approach that helps people notice what is happening, manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, and communicate more effectively. DBT skills are often grouped into mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Why this exists

DBT Companion is designed as a simple educational companion for everyday practice. It keeps the common path small: choose a module, open a skill, and use one next step without needing to sort through too much at once.

Inspired by Dr. Linehan's work

This site is inspired by the work of Dr. Marsha M. Linehan, developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. DBT Companion is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dr. Linehan or Behavioral Tech.

A note on care

This site is for education and skills practice. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support. If you are in immediate danger or might hurt yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right now.
